With BiitOps, the local agent ensures data collection only uses idle CPU cycles. It can monitor ongoing load and automatically throttle or even pause collection if needed — guaranteeing that operational services are never disrupted.
BiitOps agents are fully self-maintaining — once installed, they require no manual updates or reconfiguration. Each agent automatically receives its task schedule from the BiitOps instance, which is continuously refined through lightweight prescans of the environment.
If a change is detected — for example, a server now runs a DNS service that wasn’t present before — the prescan triggers an update to that device’s task list. The agent will then collect the relevant DNS configuration on its next run, without any human intervention. This dynamic adaptation ensures data collection always matches the current reality of the infrastructure.
Collected data is encrypted locally on the device and transmitted via SSL to the BiitOps instance. A worker process stores the encrypted data in the secure DataLake without decrypting it.
On subsequent collections, the worker process detects changes since the last run and stores only those deltas — similar to an “incremental forever” backup model.
